The scariest question you will ever hear: ”Do you floss?” I hate hearing that question. The answer is always “no” and they always give you that look of “you should know better.” Well I am about to change that. Since Colette had some expensive dental work done she decided to floss, brush, and use mouthwash. She has unknowingly dragged me along. Today marked day 5 (planning on posting this in a few days so I guess I’m really committed now) of flossing, brushing, and using mouthwash. (Note: the only thing new is the flossing and mouthwash). Hopefully the end result of this will be a healthier gum line and a cleaner mouth and teeth. As well at my next appointment I will be able to say, “yes I do floss everyday.”

May 19, 20098:52 pmThe other day I mentioned that Colette needed a crown for one of her teeth and that those are very expensive without insurance. It would be even more money if she needed a root canal. So far it is looking like she will not need the root canal. She has not been in any pain since her dentist appointment, so there is one glimmer of hope.

On Thursday night, I went to worship practice for @Bridgewaychurch and prayed about the situation. On Friday afternoon we received a letter in the mail from Colette’s old job saying that we had one more chance to elect insurance through cobra. We originally declined because the cost was so high, but now there are new rules requiring the employer to pay 65%.
We still have to check and make sure that this tooth with be covered and how much it all is going to cost, but either way I am putting this in the “God working things out” column.
May 15, 20098:35 amA few weeks ago Colette felt what she thought was a filling falling apart. We got her a dentist appointment hoping for the best. The verdict was not the best. It was not a filling falling apart but her tooth falling apart. So instead of a relatively cheap filling she will be needing a crown and possibly a root canal. Those are expensive. Sadly we do not have insurance, we are currently in the process of figuring that out. Turns out we didn’t figure that out soon enough. So as of now I will be buying Colette a new tooth not a new computer. Oh well.
