This is as good as it gets today.  Sorry.

  • This week has been way too busy.  My posting has suffered significantly because of that. In fact I checked to make sure a SSS wasn’t my last post.
  • Played on the worship team this weekend and in my opinion, we completely rocked. (more on this later).
  • Colette and I really need to make more money.  This is what I get for being a substitute teacher.  I really hate looking for jobs.
  • I am dying of thirst at this exact moment.  It is probably all the chocolate and peanut butter toppings on my ice cream.
  • I’m thinking of adding what will be a weekly post about something that caught my attention in church, preferably from the message.  I’m calling it, “Thoughts From Church.”  (Be jealous of my creativity, I give you permission).  I think it will be good for me to dwell on these thoughts for a little while.  I already have one brewing in my head.
  • Gonna power through the rest of this email and then it will be bed time.
  • Did I mention it was a long week?  Well tomorrow it starts all over again.

Silence

The Tripper hd

Silence in unexpected places is really awkward.  The tension builds as everyone looks around wondering what in the world is going on.  This past Sunday we had a little bit of that awkwardness in the middle of the sermon.  In the middle of John’s trip to heaven (Revelation) heaven is silent for 30 minutes.  (There are several ideas as to what is going on in that time, but nobody is really sure).  To help us get the idea of silence, Justin Pritchard, just walked off stage and sat down for 1 minute.  It was so weird, church isn’t supposed to be silent.  There’s music, announcements, fellowship, and of course preaching, but silence?  Like I said weird, and it was only 1 min.  We didn’t go in depth on the study silence, but he did bring up one point.  It is amazing what you can hear when you are silent.  It makes you wonder what we miss when we are so busy talking and filling our lives with pointless noise.

And if I wasn’t tired more great thought would go here.

Cyclops buy P.s I love that fact that the youth pastor steps in and preaches when the lead pastor is gone for the weekend.  His perspectives are always unique and refreshing.  It truly brings to life the idea that we are all different parts of one body.

Alright people it’s Sunday, a day where stats are going to suck anyway so why not have a sucky simple post that doesn’t involve a lot of energy.  In fact I stole borrowed that picture from Brody

.  Here are some random thoughts:

  • World’s Strictest Parents Old Yeller is a pretty cool show.  I can think of a lot of people who should watch it.
  • Silence is really awkward especially in the middle of church (more on this later).
  • I am really going to love having a larger room.
  • Driving two hours roundtrip for two hours worth of work is pretty much ridiculous.
  • The percussionist from The Lion King was phenomenal.  I wish I could play like that and had all of those different drums.
  • Kitchen remodeling is going much smoother than I anticipated.  Countertops are gone, sadly they will be gone for about two weeks.
  • That is lame.
  • I need to finish cleaning my room… badly.
  • I need a summer job.
  • I sound like a high schooler with those last two.
  • Goodbye.

Street Fighter dvdrip Tonight is going to be a great night.  Colette and I are getting dolled up and we are going on a date to see The Lion King musical.  We received tickets from my mom for christmas and I know at least I have been looking forward to this date ever since.  I happen to be a huge fan of going to the theatre, whether it is small community theatre or major production, there is just something about the entire experience that I love.  I also happen to be a huge fan of The Lion King, both the movie and the musical.  I was fortunate enough to go see The Lion King musical when I was in college and I have wanted to see it again ever since.  So tonight promises to be a great night, until them we have a room to get organized and clean, oh goody!

Secret Window full movie I have always sort of liked John Mayer.  His first couple of CD’s had some great pop songs on them.  They were filled with catchy hooks and melodies, good lyrics, and some pretty good playing as well.  I think I may have even purchased his first album. Then he came out with Continuum.  For whatever reason Colette and I really wanted to buy the album.  We hadn’t heard much of it, probably only Waiting On The World To Change

, but we went out and purchased the CD.  Instantly I fell in love with the whole album.  Now you may be wondering why on earth I am blogging about this now, after all this happened several years ago now.  Recently John Mayer seems to be everywhere I turn.  When we got home from vacation there was a John Mayer concert recorded (thanks Jordan).  I have already watched it several times and it keeps getting better.  Last night while watching my other new obsession, Conan, the John Mayer Trio was the musical guest.  If you missed that here is a link, it was pretty stinking awesome.  I am hoping that all of this t.v. time means a new album,  anybody know?

I am very excited to introduce the worship pastor for Bridgeway Church, Jeremy Gallegos

.  He recently just earned his bachelors degree and has finally decided to engage in the world of blogging.  He is sure to have some very interesting posts and hopefully some great conversations will follow.  Knowing him personally, I am extremely eager to hear his thoughts and to be able to engage with him on a regular basis and pick his brain (I think he is smarter than me).  So head over to his blog and say hello for me.

Today was spent moving.  Well, I can’t really call it moving, more rearranging.  It is a long story, but we have been living at my parents house in a pretty small bedroom for about a year (wow time goes by fast).  Since Bella came around, that room seems to have shrunk even more.  Between an additional dresser, crib, and all the other things that go along with having a baby I couldn’t take it any longer.  We finally decided to move into “the back room.”  ”The back room” is about twice as big and has been used as a library, craft room, office, storage, and t.v. room.  This all means there is a lot of stuff to clean up.  As much work as that is, I couldn’t wait to start.  Growing up my Mom was constantly rearranging furniture, a certain restlessness that she passed on to me.  Rearranging furniture is like a puzzle to solve, a work of art, and the lure of the perfect solution keeps me searching for my masterpiece.

Today, was Bella’s first doctor’s appointment in a while so Colette and I were excited to see the progress that she has made.  We were also excited for Bella to see her new doctor, a person we knew we would like.  (Her last doctor was a little odd).  So for those of you who are wondering here are Bella’s “stats.”  She is in the 75% for both her weight (18.5 lbs) and height (26 in.).  She may be a little bigger than some, but at least she is proportional.  While we were there she also received some immunizations, which are not something to look forward to.  She received one oral immunization and three shots.  Thanks to the help of some preventative Tylenol, Bella did great.  She may have thought Colette was evil as she pinned her to the table and confused at why I just watched, but all was immediately better once mom picked her up.

Alright, I think I have bored you all enough.  See you tomorrow.

It is Sunday at 10:30 pm which means the weekend is just about over.  It also means that in 1 1/2 hours Bella will officially have her insurance back, and we no longer have to feel like bad parents.

Class video The weekend was a good one filled with a birthday party for my nephew who turned five and my church’s annual picnic/baptism.  During the baptism four of us played a little acoustic worship set.  The set was unrehearsed and very impromptu.  It was nice to be able to relax and just jam.

Xtro II: The Second Encounter the movie

Today, we began moving into a larger room because our room now is just too small.  It does involve lots of packing of stuff, but exciting non the less.    We are hoping to be done within the week.

Today for the first time in my life, I successfully unassembled an item and repacked the entire item in the original box.  It was amazing.  I should mention Colette helped, but this is my blog so I am taking the credit.

And lastly here are a few random things I learned this weekend.

  • Don’t clean out a lint trap with a damp or wet hand.
  • Soda cans will explode in hot temperatures just like in a freezer.  Fortunately, we returned to the car shortly before the explosion.
  • I wish I had the money to buy a Klong Yaw.

P.s. I am not sure who took this picture.  It was not me, but I think it is great.

Both shows will be at Auburn Alehouse, one of my favorite places to play.  So mark your calendars, set email reminders, do whatever it is you do and come watch some good music.
