In a class I was teaching today, the students were put into groups and asked to label a blank map of the United States. Immediately, I knew that I could not do it. Though I was surprised at how much I knew, I was even more shocked at how little some of the students knew. For example, Alaska is not in the “mid-west somewhere.”

Yes, I could. I might get CT & VT mixed up though.
we did a 5min challenge one time just to name all 50 states…. I was horrible!
No way. I would never get them all right. I’m horrible at directions, and knowing that Ohio is east of me or Illinois west is as good as it gets.
I can, except for NH & VT. I can’t keep those 2 straight.

i think i’d do great…till i got to the North East. those little states are hard to remember!
