I don’t always participate in Positive Post Tuesday. Not because I don’t have anything positive to say, I usually just forget. Today I remembered. So in light of the fact that I will be playing on the worship team this weekend, I would like to talk about that team.
When I started attending Bridgeway Church I was a little timid about joining the worship team. It always seemed to be “where the cool people” hang out, and clearly you can all tell I am not one of those. After much convincing from my wife, I finally talked to the worship pastor Jeremy and set up the interviewing process. Throughout the whole process Jeremy made me feel completely comfortable and genuinely interested in the will of God for the situation. Needless to say, I joined the team.

Joining the worship team has been the best decision I could have made. The group consists of 30+ people, plus all of the sound team. I don’t want to make it sound better then it is, we aren’t all best friends and go out every week, but I have made some great friends who are there for me when needed. The group has helped me get involved in church events, where typically I am shy and slightly introverted. The worship team has become to me a group of people joined by similar interests and talents with a common goal to worship God. From that connection we have all become friends.
I could not strongly recommend enough the need for becoming involved in your church one way or the other. We are truly meant for fellowship.
